From Unexpected Caregivers to Dedicated Advocates: The Story of The Chapelgate in Ten Hills

Some businesses begin with a plan. Ours began with a calling. What started as small, seemingly harmless moments — a forgotten name, a misplaced item, or difficulty with simple tasks — became early signs of something much larger. In 2021, our mother was diagnosed with late-stage dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. We never expected to become caregivers. As busy professionals balancing careers, children, and daily life, we were unprepared—but determined. But as her needs grew, so did our determination to ensure she received the care, dignity, and respect she deserved.

We began by helping with daily tasks, managing medications, and creating a safe, supportive home. Over time, we assembled a team of caregivers, built care routines, and reshaped our lives to meet her growing needs. Without realizing it, we had created an environment that mirrored a small assisted living community within our home. While it was challenging, it opened our eyes to what true quality care looks like and how rare it is to find. We saw how urgently families need trusted, compassionate care, and knew we could help provide it.

After touring facilities and speaking with other families and professionals, we were struck by the gaps in senior care. We chose to continue caring for our mother at home, and visiting healthcare professionals often remarked on the exceptional level of care she received. Their words stayed with us. They made us proud of what we had built and motivated us to do more. That realization inspired us to create The Chapelgate in Ten Hills, a place where families can trust that their loved ones will be cared for with the same dedication we give to our own.
